Yup they're still called "Scots-Irish" by some, they're mainly of Scottish ancestry, some English, either way they all trace there ancestry back to the island of Britain.

A lot of this is dependent on whether Ireland will realistically want to take them back. I don't think people realize how desolate the North is; it's a MASSIVE drain on the UK economy and has a massive percentage of its population on welfare, we subsidize them and many believe the North would completely bankrupt the republic were they to be reintegrated. I honestly couldn't care less if they go or stay; I felt sadness about Scotland leaving as we're one small island and I also have some Scottish roots but I couldn't care less about NI it might as well be a different country and most British people cannot relate to the situation over there what so ever.

I think the best thing for northern Ireland would be the reunification with Ireland.

It's whatever the people within NI wants. When we think is frankly irrelevant.

No it would save us money and it would be less of a headache concerning Eu negotiations. It would probably bankrupt the Republic of Ireland.

The northern Irish unionists wouldn't sit by and let it go. They'd fight the British to stay British. They are stubborn, it's a trait they got off us Scots in the past. The orange stuff is foreign to England and the DUP were completely unknown until they had influence. England's Britain feels different to Scotland's and Northern Ireland's. It's cuddlier and biscuit tin like in the South.

But that won't change history, Pablo. It won't change reality. Please bear in mind that at no point in history has the island of Ireland constituted a single and united independent state. Ponder on that. The Kingdom of Ireland existed in the Middle Ages, yes, but that was under the rule of the English crown and with many across Ireland loyal to the King of England.

Republicans should encourage migration and diaspora support into Northern ireland to erode the already tenuous hold the British government has and by popular referendum vote to secede and unify with the rest of the island. Problem permanently solved by repatriating Britons back across the Irish Sea. Naturally, just typing out this simple idea reveals how preposterous and far-fetched it is because the Irish do not wish to exist as a people any longer.
