Absolutely nonesense
There are Iranians who pass in Southern Europe and don't look much exotic but also many who don't pass at all even in Fringe Zones
like Sicily not, because they have peculiar features that are entirely different from anyone in Europe.
What is indeed overrated here is the look-distance between people in Southern Europe from the same lattitude and regions with similar climate
Like some people who think that native Mainland Greeks would extremely rarely pass in Sicily or look similar to Sicilians or even in
the neighbouring Greek Islands which in the latter case is even more ridiculous in any regard.
Or that Iberian only very rarely pass as Italians or are similar to them

Sure the very dark ones maybe do not pass. But I know people who get perceived as natives there and they dont even especially "light". The variation in some southern euro countries are very big, so its not a suprise really, especially since a tanned canarian or south italian is much darker then menas who often avoid the sun.
