Seriously: The German-Danish border is even considered a role model for how such things are to be solved the best, the most just and the most accepted way. There is about the same amount of ethnical Danes in Germany as there are ethnical Germans in Denmark (in this border context, not in Copenhagen or somewhere else). The only question you could ask is: Could the border have been drawn better resulting in even smaller numbers of people being on the "wrong" side?

But please consider this: Even in time of German national socialist control of Denmark there was made ZERO attempts to "regain" (this is a popular specific Polish term for justifying pure crimes till today) any territory that the German Empire previously had lost there. Can you imagine what impression of being just that border must have made even on "brutal nazis"? And this in turn was rewarded by Danes, also not questioning that border, when Germany lost even two world wars in sequence and was destroyed and totally defenceless.

Imo everyone in the world having such issues should have a look at this and think about it.

Deutschification would be a more correct term (in Polish: niemczenie, or zniemczanie).
