"UEFA’s disciplinary committee on October 25 is to decide on sanctions against Romania after its fans chanted racist slogans against Hungarians, Kosovars and refugees and set off fireworks at a match on Sunday.
UEFA on Monday charged Romania's football federation over its fans’ racist chants and banners at a Nations League game against Serbia that took place on Sunday in Bucharest.
UEFA says the fans' "racist behaviour" included chants against neighbouring Hungary, banners linking refugees to terrorism and also a video posted on social media showing fans chanting slogans in support of Serbia’s claims over Kosovo as well as Romania’s claims over neighbouring Moldova.
Fans also invaded the field and set off fireworks at the national stadium in Bucharest.
The European football organization's disciplinary panel is scheduled to rule on the accusations on October 25, as Romania is set to face Lithuania in the Nations League on November 17.
Romania’s football federation has been punished before for fans’ racism and misbehaviour at both matches of the national team and various football clubs.
In June 2015, UEFA’s disciplinary commission fined the Romanian federation 10,000 euros and banned some fans from the stadium following racist behaviour by fans during a match between the national team and the Faroe Islands earlier that year.
In 2011, UEFA fined Romania after fans displayed a banner supporting the Bosnian Serb war criminal Ratko Mladic at a 2012 European Championship qualifier in Bucharest against Bosnia.
Romania's footfall federation has not commented on the UEFA announcement and did not reply to BIRN's request for a response by the time of publication."

Hooligans will be hooligans, and this time none of the chants were provocative towards the opponents, who were Serbs. So in my opinion charges are ridiculous in this case.
