That's the point though - the UN might suggest things, but seldom really has the capacity to enforce them (unlike the EU, which like I said is a different matter). The scrapping of Black Peter was mostly the decision of the Dutch Government itself.

I'm not strictly against immigration even though i would prefer to ban immigration for a 10 year here because it's getting crazy. I'm against multi-culturalism, immigrants should be carefully selected and be allowed only if they can fit in the society. Ghetto communities should be deported.

For example, around 25% of all the UN's resolutions have been against Israel. Now, whatever you might think of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the illegal settlements, the UN hasn't really done anything about them.

But my point is that, most of the time, the UN only suggests things and has no real power to enforce them. The fact your Government did this is ultimately their choice and theirs alone.

Anyway, we seem to have seriously digressed from my original point: different ethnic groups, languages and cultures have a basic right to exist without one seeking to usurp the other. This is in sharp contrast to universalists from either Right or Left - the former believe we should do away with 'pointless and backward' languages and cultures and instead all speak English and basically become like Americans (who are atm the dominant global power); the latter believe in mass immigration with few if any restrictions as a moral end in itself and dislike the very idea that (at least in Western countries) there should be a majority ethnic group and culture.
