Do you believe they are their own entities, or perhaps the same entities to be found all over the world in history? Better question would be, do the characteristics they posses (or that are attributed to them) show their true nature or are they complete fabrications?

They are demons masquerading as such entities, at times. And yes, demons/fallen angels are found all over the world and are actively involved in false religions.

I do believe there is some evidence that Odin was a real historical person.
