Is reconciliation possible in the Balkan?

What do you think? Is reconciliation possible in the Balkans?
And if you have possible with which people would you first reconciliation?

For me, the Bosnians. We are completely the same, just another religion.
Of course, if mistakes were recognized on both sides, it is not possible that only one side is to blame.

It is possible if people’s lives are improved. Western countries hated each much more and they have much more buried bones, but they have reconciled.

There is difficultly with "East vs West", EU/NATO vs Russia, religion and history.
However, some of the countries in the region could improve relations.

Curious if there are any polls/surveys which show relations in the area.

You are right. With economic prosperity comes peace. If people have work to go to, then their minds will re-focus onto something else. But another factor is also the late national awakening's the Balkans experienced compared to western Europe. Due to Ottoman rule of course. Ottoman rule stopped us from progressing.

Once Kosovo has its defence military in place I can definitely imagine peace from the Albanian perspective. For us the things that could be changed have been changed, only small regions and the too far gone Chameria were lost, but you can't have everything. Macedonians don't have cultural value so they will be swallowed by the Albanian minority, effectively securing the eastern border for Albanians.

As for west slavs, you will never have peace. It wasn't a "all sides did bad things" war, it was a "they tried to become independent from Serbian rule so we tried to erase them but failed" war. Keep in mind even Ukrainians and Russians couldn't manage peace amongst eachother and they are pretty much indistinguishable, even in religion.

Won't be demographically, it'll be culturally. Albanian entertainment has already taken over Macedonia if we go by youtube, the 2nd/3rd most visited site in the country.
