Sergey Sazanov in 1914 planned that after Russian victory in World War 1 Slovakia would become part of Russian-dependent Poland (of course never happened as we know because Russians lost WW1):

Here is a map of Poland according to Sazanov's plan:

Yeah and I am telling you that Hungarians from Slovakia never fighted because most of them live in southern Slovakia in villages. The ones that fighted alongside Poles were Hungarians from nowaydays Hungary.

But maybe the saying was about ethnic Slovak subjects of the Hungarian Crown?

Not the other way around? The saying originated in 1848?

Everyone actually says differently, It's really uncertain. What we can say Hungarians and Poles had good relations since middle-age and they coorporated and helped each other all the time. Most of Hungarians even in Slovakia have roots from Polish Slavs same as my family, tho it's long forgotten.

Yeh I saw on other forum that some Slavic person was trying to say that this poem between Magyars and Poles was really about Slovaks and Poles.
I have not seen this idea backed up by any evidence or proof , and when I asked for evidence or as to why they had this belief they didnt or could give any evidence on proof.
It seems more the case that some certain people trying to pander to a Pan Slavism mentality , but its a fact the good relations and cooperation between Hungary and Poland as nation states goes way back and still exists today,so why wouldnt the poem be about Hungarians and Poles then.

Some Hungarian Nationalists and uneducated plebs like to say a few chauvinistic remarks about Slovaks, but I met so many people who are self-declared patriots and Traditionalists, and they always had positive things to say about Slovaks. I believe many educated Hungarians do like Slovaks though, as they are aware of our commonly shared history, but also highly respect and admire the great economic progresses that Slovakia made in the past 2 decades, definitely outdoing Hungary in many aspects. I personally do believe that Slovaks are the closest nation to Hungarians culturally and by mentality, even if I sympathize with Poles more
