Well I don’t think anyone doubted their Albanian origin besides Serbian circles who pushed their Serbian theories - for all our northern clans not just for Dushmani. Someone needs to find and set straight these Serbs who edit and create multiple articles on wiki related to Albanian families. I find it annoying how they put their noses into things that don't concern them, like what have the Dushmani got to do with Serbs lol... Problem is that Wikipedia is used extremely often and so people will be misinformed about these things and believe that practically all Albanians have some sort Serbian or Greek origin. It's ridiculous and obsessive

Lol. Their wiki page on Albanians is even worse, they still claim that Albanians come from the Caucasus, a theory which has been obsolete for the past decades

and that the Illyrian and other Paleo-Balkan theories are the ones which are challenged. The page is locked as well, so nobody can edit the page. They also use Jovan Deretic for reference like he's some serious historian

Interesting page on the Kuqi done by the Serbs from Poreklo. At least they seem to acknowledge their Albanian origin, it's in Serbian but translate works fine imo. https://www.poreklo.rs/2018/10/23/rod-kuca/?lang=lat. They say how Lal Ndreka(Lale Drekalov) was an Albanian and Catholic who converted to Orthodoxy when he married his second wife who was an Orthodox Serb, his first wife was a Catholic Albanian from Kastrati. If he didn't convert then perhaps Kuqi would have remained Albanian and Catholic, according to the author of this page. Early census on the area showed Albanians as being the majority. Also there seems to be a branch of Kuqi which belongs to R1b>BY611>Z2705.
