Using "EAST SICILY" as the reference since West Sicily is the outlier region of Trapani, while East Sicily is a better, more consistent sample for most Sicilians.

Closest is definitely various Aegean islands; Ikaria, Crete, Chios, Andros. The greatest genetic difference to Sicilians, seems to be in Macedonia.

Worth noting "East Sicily" = Syracuse. A lot of the Aegean islanders, like the Kalymnians, are much closer to "South Italy" (Calabria) which a lot of Sicilians also can be represented by instead of Syracuse or Trapani.

East Sicily = Syracuse.

So what it looks like, to me, is that the most similar to Syracusans are still islanders, but mostly Cyclades/North Aegean/Crete rather than Dodecanese.

I'm noticing there isn't anything consistent about this calculator. I really can't take it serious because when I look at my own results compared to other Peloponnesians, Epirotes, Thessalisans, Macedonians there isn't any tangible trend in population components. I"m at 9 for East Sicilian but my first population is Greek 6.39 followed by Abruzzo at 6.56. This really falls short of K13 in my opinion where I get Thessaly at 3.62 for my first population or even the MDLP 23 calc which hits on the head.

Syracusans seem closest to North Aegean, Cyclades, and Crete.
Calabrian and NE Sicilian are closer to Dodecanese.
