anyway there was a study about afroasiatic toponyms in all southern europe (Spain France and Italy) and it linked them to phoencians, so before christ and far from any arab conquest. the article also used the root " Alb/Alp " as an example (in France also found as "Aub" ) meaning something like Elevated PAsture" and connected to "alp" meaning Bovine.
