Other interesting discoveries of german words existing in italian
Ted: Zahn, Zähne (tooht, teeth)
Ita: Zanna, Zanne (tusk = animal tooth/teeth; the Italian word for human tooth/teeth is instead "dente/denti")
Ted: Magen (stomach)
Ita: avere il Magone (something like to have a weird feeling in the stomach, not exclusively a physical pain.. But usually a more psychological/somatic pain; the Italian word for stomach is instead "stomaco" very similar to the English same word)
Ted: Kopf, Köpfe (head)
Ita: coppola (a kind of hat) .. And in some Italian dialects they say "in coppa" (=at the summit)
Ted: Bein, Beine (leg/s)
Ita: I think in this case it's clear the romance root of that word.. As Binus in Latin is "two" like.. The Italian word "binario".. Wich means a count sistem of two
The German word "Nase" is curiously more phonological near to Italian "Naso" than the English "Nose"
Ted: Auge, Augen (eye/s)
Ita: Auge.. ("at the top of importance/fame). The g is pronounced.. Like Aujea.. But in Latin It had the hard sound of g like the German one.. (the Italian word for eye is " occhio" and in Latin is "oculus"... We have however the Latin word Auge, auges from wich the Italian one is derived)
The German Ohr, Ohren is again more phonologically similar to the Italian Orecchio, orecchi than the English Ear/s
