What should the drinking age in America be?

It's currently 21, which is way too high. I think it should be 16.

16 or 18. for high percent liquor maybe 18 beer and wine 16. thats how it was when i was a teenager in austria. smoking was also with 16. i dont know if the law changed.

I think alcohol should be illegal and marijuana legal. I've never heard of someone beating their spouse or hurting people on purpose while high.

But the vast majority of alcohol drinkers are responsible. It's not fair to punish them/us all just because a few people do bad things while drunk.

We're the odd country out by having it so high...if you're old enough to vote in elections, join the army, and live on your own, you're old enough to drink a beer or two.
