Well I still have both of those names, but what happened was that since I was given a a longish name (5) at birth my family decided to double-barrel our last 2 paternal family names into 1.
Thus I went from having 1 forename, 2 middle names and 2 family names to 1 forename, 1 middle name, 1 family name which was considered a middle name before and 1 family name composed of formerly 2 separate ones.
In old documents I still have 2 middle names, in newer ones the just 1 + a "cognomen", but in the end of the day the still function the same way. hehe
