To clarify above, I agree with what Seya was saying, AncestryDNA seems to do a mediocre and sometimes poor job for people with mixed Euro Ancestry.

If we're talking bad results for mixed people. This is one of the worst I've seen. Both kids inherited over 70% of their mothers results on ancestrydna (Finnish mother, Belgian father).

I’ve come to the conclusion that the AncestryDNA calculator sucks for the most part but their raw DNA is good. Seems like 23andme has a good calculator but bad raw DNA. The link to the thread below is a good example of this when they were applied to DNAland. Raw data is more important to me personally, so I actually think Ancestry DNA is a good value despite a shitty calculator. They also will probably correct these issues in the future anyway. Not sure I want to buy 23andme simply for a better calculator unless they offer other stuff I don’t know about.

I find that my MyHeritage raw data is more accurate on some calculators, than my AncestryDNA raw data

Yeah I had weird results my dads brother was like Russian and from the Caucasus Iberian peninsula, but yet it doesn’t show it at all for me. There’s also lots of people closely related to me who have European Jew ancestry, I swear I have some features which I’m sure are pretty exclusive ormspecific to jewish people a lot of the time though no stereotypically, but you know.

I’m sure it’s not entirely like, cavemen or something back that much further. I guess maybe it’s our saliva.

So the ancestry DNA test only goes back 600 to 1000 years which I dunno, is like the start of Europe at best, so maybe it’s more pernicious but there’s ones that go even further back and I’m tempted to take them.
