And does it sound "mainstream European" to you?

Posting Eurovision songs as a proof that some culture has European music is silly.

Eurovision does not have traditional music, but mainly globalist pop music.

I can as well post Israel's 2018 Eurovision entry to prove something (not sure what?):

^^^ She looks and sounds like some Inuit or First Nations Canadian feminist.

Does it mean that Israel is Inuit or Native North American country?

They are a mainstream/classic Israeli band. So you’ll often hear them on the radio.

Israel is the only "Western" country in the Middle East. But does it mean that it is not Middle Eastern? Even Israeli Jews don't really want to claim that they are a European country - because that's what Palestinian Arabs say when they want to "push the Jews into the sea" (or back to Europe).

When you say Israel is European, it is like saying they have no right to exist in the Middle East, and that Palestinians are right.

Iran in the 1960s-70s was also pretty modern or Westernized, but they returned to the old ways after the Islamic Revolution:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_Revolution

Check Heterosapiens' thread, it shows that the Middle East already used to be quite modernized / Westernized, even Iraq:

Being Westernized does not change your geographical location.

Which part of Europe does Israeli music sound like the most - Southern Europe? French? German? Eastern Europe? Nordic?

I think you will find it hard to identify the exact region. That's because their music just sounds "Westernized", not "European".

It sounds vaguely "European" but are you able to identify the exact region of Europe that it resembles the most?

Haider only agreed with you for political reasons - he is Lebanese and doesn't like modern Israel.

Let's see what this Israeli guy says:

Do you think that the state of Israel should have been established somewhere in Europe instead of its current location?

What about Armenia, Georgia, and Cyprus? How is Israel ME but not those countries? Can they considered "Western ME nations"?

(I agree with you that Israel is ME by the way)

Most of the examples posted are old. This is what modern Israeli pop music sounds like:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMaU...wKn0fc&index=1

It's very much fusion and mixed. Many Mizrahi/Maghrebi artists sound mostly Middle Eastern, many more Ashkenazi-influenced sound more Western, and most sound somewhere in between.
