It is sensless, becasue Celts in times of Ceasar also weren't pure Hallstatt, especially those in Caledonia, Iberia or Anatolia.
Celts are still alive, but huge majority of them doesn't speak celtic.
Majority of Western Europe is celtic. Ba! U.S. are mostly celtic as well.

I do think so, we just don't know about them, Celtic tribes ranged from the British Isles to as far east as Central Anatolia (Galatians), some probably went to northern Germany too, but were killed off or absorbed by the locals.
As far as I know Iceland was uninhabited before the Scandinavian settlers, but I've heard their founding females (mtDNA lineages) are partially Gaelic-like. So either some form of Insular Celt tribe was already present there in very small numbers or the Germanic-speaking settlers arrived there with western / northern British Islander females.

There were Irish monks in Iceland before the Norse went there. That's likely how they found out about it (in Ireland).

The Gaelic dna is because the Vikings raided and took women from Ireland and the Scottish Isles. It was not always thralls either because some of the Vikings were Norse-Gaels so already mixed when they went to Iceland. There is a lot of L21 in Iceland so males were also involved. There is L21 in West Norway but Iceland's L21 does appear to also be from Gaels.

They aren't the same as Hallstatt Celts because they are from a different part of Europe but I still don't know how the Irish and Welsh speak a Celtic language. It doesn't appear that there was a large population of Celts that came in from Europe so it is still a bit of a mystery. I'm sure there is a very logical reason but no one can give a satisfactory explanation yet. The Celts that came to the UK and Ireland seem to be Belgae and Northern Gauls. I would love a big Celtic study to be done with a lot of samples and I would love to know the Celtic input into Britain and Ireland.
