Default Which parent's surname should bastard children receive?

I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, children should bear their father's surname, since they come from his Y-DNA lineage, and not that of their maternal grandfather.

On the other hand, giving bastards their father's surname might help to obfuscate their bastardy.

Imo give him the father's last name if the father is still in the child's life. If the father isn't, then give the mother's last name.

    double surname.

it's the more correct option but it also feels a bit weird because it is sort of a stigma. (you would immediately now if it's a bastard)
