Which is better to be taken along with an antidepresant for relieving depression: Xanax or Klonopin?

I don't suffer that much about anxiety, but people say benzodiazepines are good to help with depression (when combined with an antidepressant, since those anxiolytic drugs can't be taken alone) besides helping anxiety. And I'd like to know which of them is better to help me with my depression: Xanax (Alprazolam) or Klonopin (Clonazepam)? Which of them is better for helping NOT WITH MY ANXIETY, BUT WITH MY DEPRESSIVE SYMPTOMS?

I dont know . didnt know that benzos help with depression at all . they are anxiety meds but have high addiction risk . I have Tavor/Lorazepam for emergency situations only

why dont you take Paxil/Paroxetin for depression for example ? but it can lead to weight gain

Ditch the antidepressants as they will turn you into a eunuch. I took an antidepressant for a week in high school before I realized it killed my sex drive. I said, 'Jerking off is one of the only things that gives my life pleasure. I'd rather be bummed and able to jerk-off than an artificially content eunuch.'

Some benzos can help depression besides anxiety, some can't.
Also, I took paroxetine. I gained 35 kg in less than 6 months.

It's best to ask that question to a qualified pharmacist, physician, or a psychiatrist. I don't think anyone on TA is a doctor or knows your full symptoms, etc, to be able to act like a doctor and advise you on medications you need or don't need to take.


A G.P. will be able to check you blood pressure, weight, age, medical problems, full medical background, allergies, all the other medications that you're taking and possible contradictions, etc, before prescribing you with a suitable medication, and will be able to recommend something appropriate for your individual needs if therapeutic relaxation technique sessions aren't of help.

I'm not a doctor, psychiatrist, or pharmacist... so I can't advise you on medications that will be suitable for you. What is suitable medication for one person may be unsuitable for another patient with the same symptoms.... that's why you need to speak to a professional doctor.
