1. This works on the assumption that there is an afterlife, which is not proven.

2. It works on the assumption that if there is an afterlife, the dead want to communicate.

There is no such thing as "evidence based" anything when it comes to spirit realms, spirit communication etc. Evidence is based on scientific information which has been gathered, compared and proven to be correct. No such information can be gathered in anything metaphysical. There is no baseline and nothing to compare it to other than some hocus-pocus someone else has come up with. "Evidence-based" in this case means absolutely zero. It sounds fancy and reliable but that's about all it is - it sounds fancy and reliable.

What is MOST disturbing, however, is how people try to con grieving families into parting with their money for a final word from a loved one. That should be made criminal. If there is something like an afterlife, then I have no business meddling with it in this life. In the same vein, if there is an afterlife then whoever is there also has no business in messing around in mine. I prefer to keep the dimensions where they belong.
