but iranians often look foreign to me. when one takes a look at my kurdish gallery and also the people I post for classification then it is pretty obvious that we are different looking from most persians.

What about Iranian Lurs? They are closer to Kurds than Persians are. They are even transitive into each other to some extent as with the Feyli Lurs who are associated with both Kurds and Lurs.

lurs look closer yes but they look more similar to iranian kurds such as the feyli as you mention . in general every ethnicity east of the turkish border looks on average different from us even though of course individual overlap exsits
