Default How is 11.11 / remembrance day 2018 (100 years after WW1) celebrated in your country?

And what does it mean for you? For me the most important message takeaway message is no more wars and to maintain peace in Europe.

I really like this British Sainsbury's commercial they released couple of years ago (like 3 years ago) to commemorate the famous Christmas celebration between the fighting British and German soldiers:

It isn't. We remained neutral (thankfully).

Really? All throughout WW1? Didn't know that

Belgium got violated early on which is why Britain entered the war.

Queen Victoria would have been heartbroken to see all her grandchildren engaged in a world war.

We don't celebrate the remembrance day, but we do celebrate our 100th anniversary of independence on 11th November.

Usually wear poppies and have a moment of silence for the fallen.

Oh yes indeed. You can thank Woodrow Wilson & his administration for Point 13 out of his 14 points plan
