Why does the United States have no official language?

We have actual immigration laws, yet at least 22 million break the law and reside in the USA illegally. Laws or something like an official language policy is kinda silly if you don't enforce it.

Most states have the official language of English, other states are multilingual and there are also other states that do not have an official language.

I would say that states where there are many English are illegal or are not official or the state is multilingual like Texas and New Mexico.
