all of these countries are a mix of Romanized PaleoBalkans (Vlachs), and Slavs, with occasional Germanic input in Eastcentral Europe and the exception of not Romanized PaleoBalkans (Albanians), that have some Slavic input as well:

    - Moldova
    - Romania
    - Bulgaria
    - Macedonia
    - Greece
    - Albania
    - Montenegro
    - Serbia
    - Bosnia
    - Croatia
    - Slovenia
    - Hungary
    - Slovakia
    - southern Poland
    - Western Ukraine

they could all standardize one language and unite.

for historical and cultural reasons they should adopt Greek language and Christian Orthodoxy and carry on.

The Greeks and Albanians would disagree.

The fact that a part of the population was cathloic means nothing regards to their ethnic identity. Stefan Nemanja was also baptized as a catholic and switched to orthodoxy decades later when his family became the rulers of Raška.
Trebinje was part of Serbia and Serbian feudal areas from early middle age to the 1377. In 1377 Bosnian king Tvrtko (who was crowned in Serbian Orthodox monastery Mileševa btw) took Trebinje, Popovo, Gacko Bileća etc. (Travunija) from Serbian noble family Vojinović https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vojinović_noble_family
Until 1371. Trebinje was part of Nemanjić Serbia, in the late period of Nemanjić dynasty Vojinovići ruled on Travunija including Trebinje as subjects of the Nemanjići. In 1448 herceg Stefan Vukčić Kosača founded Serbian Orthodox state Dutchy of Saint Sava, and it was the end of Bosnian rule https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duchy_of_St_Sava
Travunija and Trebinje were part of Bosnia only 71 years in the middle age (1377-1448).
