    Is it genetics or stress?

The first gray hair appeared this year, 2-3 pieces on the temples, I hope the grizzle will not progress fast.
My father at 50 had a total of 20 gray hairs, but my mother turned gray pretty early.
Who knows, in few years time it might become like this:

Yep, it seems like it's heavily genetics-influenced, instead of environment like most believe. The old stories of people going gray from stress or terror sound like bs to me.

I have not passed for this situation for now. Nothing to make you shame. It is marks of war. Hurrah!

I've had some since my early twenties, my dad went full silver on his late 30's, there's not a lot of hope for me

I'm 40 and the hair on my head is still all brown except for 3 or 4 hairs at my temples. That's new actually. My facial hair is another story. Lots of grey, especially on my chin. Seems the genes for graying between the head hair and facial are sometimes different- at least in my case.

The picture of my dad in my avatar, he is in his mid 50's there. His temples were graying but his hair was still mostly black.

Lol yea and I've even heard rumored claims from some people of how body/leg hair growth in East Asians arises from how well they were fed and what they ate as a child growing up, which sounds a bit like BS to me

It will look good on me, just like your example, so I do not worry.
