Redneck should never be used in the same context with Southerner, still. As it is . No would say "non redneck Northerner".

I think it's pretty obvious if you grew up in the South as I did. I could easily distinguish rednecks (poor folks) from the elite (who had money and influence). I was sort of an in between type. My parents were "working class" but I had access to both worlds. Now if you're talking about Crackers in Florida that was a very distinct culture that had less to do with economic division.
