Karol Wojtyła is a popular meme subject here. The young generation even coined up a popular new verb 'odjaniepawlać' which is used to describe a situation when you're surprised by something happening, often very messy.

John Paul II is not an admirable person in my view. For all we know he covered widespread paedophilia in Church or at least was very naive.
