Movies such as "Black Panther" hypothesize about an Africa without European interference, where Africans would have utilized their natural resources and become economically prosperous and technologically advanced, on par with if not exceeding the West. Some people also believe that the spread of technology in Africa is a rediscovery of African knowledge rather than westernization.

Others believe (some with legitimate evidence, others with racist reasons) that without European influence, Africa would in fact be less advanced and less economically competitive than it is today and the disparity would be greater.

Had Euros not colonised I’d guess Arabs would of colonised the whole continent. Due to the very divided tribal systems of Sub Saharan’s Africa would of been colonised no matter what imo I couldn’t of seen early unification happening.

I think if Africans had discovered their natural resources it would have been a possibility. However, it is documented that many of the natural resources exploited by Europeans, were previously undiscovered.

So it isn't outside of the realm of what could have been, if just a few different turns had been taken.

SSA's weren't nation or kingdom builders in the same way Euro's or Mena's even were, they were and still are divided completely by tribe, even now SSA's follow their tribe over their nation. I think had Euro's not colonised SSA the Arabs would of just taken the whole continent, you'd have a largely Arabic speaking Islamic continent. I doubt it'd be any richer as a result of this.

Africa would be worse if it were never colonized. Colonialism actually brought some benefits to Africa like medicine, technology and a better civilization. That’s the reason why African countries that were colonized like South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the Ivory Coast are doing so well because they got the benefits of colonization. If Africa were never colonized by Europeans then the population of Africa would be a lot lower or decline drastically. More Africans would be dying if colonialism never existed.

I think it wouldn't be much different than it is now.

Actually, (maybe) in way it would be better off. Due to western medicine the continent is being heavily overpopulated which wouldn't be the case if it weren't for the contact with Europeans. I think overpopulation is a problem for them.
