Noticeable enough. It's not a sure thing, but here in the USA, most people of Germanic ancestry do not care for Country music, while those of Anglo/Celtic ancestry seem to favor it. The Scotch Irish in the mountains of VA, TN, and NC brought it to the States.
The Irish LOVE Country music- They have Irish Tenors who sing Country music, Country music festivals, etc. Country singers are even popular in the UK- especially Dolly Parton. Essentially American Country music derives from Ireland and Scotland. Listen to the old fiddle tunes and you'll see what I mean..
Mexicans seem to like Country Music- because there are actually many similarities between that and Mariachi bands...
In Germany however, they have no Country music love whatsoever. You don't find any German Country music singers. Unless you count yodelers- and even most Germans have turned their backs on that. Is it because Germans are too serious to appreciate good 'ol feet stomping Country Music? Or they just don't "get it"?
