Touching documentary. It's hard for some... and big corporations are ruthlessly pursuing more profit, without consideration for their workers. The ugly underbelly of capitalism/love of money.

Whenever someone brings up family homelessness I point out that illegal immigration lowers wages for unskilled workers. They get mad. I don't understand why they would get mad. If you have someone willing to work for less than naturally the wage drops. Four men pooling their money to rent out a small, cheap apartment will be better able to compete for work than a family where both husband and wife are looking for work. One has more costs than the other even if the former is sending money home to their native country where the dollar goes much further than their own currency.

And - excuse my harshness - not all families are in a bad situation because of a lack of work (or I should say work where wages are low). There are unfortunately many women who allow themselves to get knocked up by the local loser who leaves the woman and child. So now they're stuck with a child and without the skills to find a decent job.

A message to women every where: don't fuck a guy who can't hold down a job. It's just common sense that will lead down a bad road.

Anyway, I hope Loki has as much concern for his beloved Russia that he has never visited. I'm sure Papa Putin takes care of the weakest of his people like a good papa would.

btw, if you work at McDonald's and think you should get paid $15 an hour then you're retarded (and most likely you are retarded, or an immigrant and if in the inner city then Black). Fast food jobs were never meant to be for adults. They were meant for high school kids as a summer and after school job. It's not complicated work worth $15/hr.

Why the defensiveness Colonel? I didn't attack your country. It's an interesting documentary about real people living real lives... you cannot deny that. It is touching, and food for thought. I think we should be more socially responsible. At least, these big corporations like GE should. They relocated their factory operations to cheaper areas closer to the Mexican border in order to capitalize on cheap labour... and save a few pennies for their shareholders... whilst making many hard-wroking families homeless. This is not right.

I do have concern for them. But yeah Putin takes really good care of them, Russians have never had it so good as they have it now... most are leading normal lives, and not in poverty. They may not be super wealthy, but they get by. That's why Putin gets re-elected... because they can see their living standards are constantly improving. That's why the US wants to sanction Russians to death.. they don't like it that ordinary Russian folk prosper.

Yes, to hurt Russian civilians. Because they won't make Putin any poorer... They want to keep Russia as a nation down, and as poor as possible. One can also clearly see that in their behaviour towards Russia just after the fall of gthe Soviet Union. All one saw of America was vultures ...

It's sad. There are definite negative externalities that come with capitalism. Inequality being one, and especially neg externalities in healthcare as well. I love capitalism and free-markets, but sometimes free-markets don't fill necessary voids in the system. I am a strong believer in social safety benefits alongside a capitalist system. This curves inequality and drastically improves people's lives.
