    Fasolada is Greece's national dish, or it was at least until the 70s. That was a staple food for many Greeks as it was nutritious and easy to afford.



    It usually was accompanied with homemade bread and Greek (villager's) sallad.

    Classic Greek souvlaki should be small, not the giant souvlaki you sometimes see abroad, apparently imitating the size of kebabs. It should also have a tasty fluffy pita bread, not taste like plain pita bread.
