In the Soviet Union, people were relocated to wherever the jobs were. Also, I believe that being sent to Archangelsk was a punishment considered by some as worse than being exiled to Siberia. I doubt many Russians today are pure locals with all four grandparents born in the same region.

For those who always speak about resemblance of North Russians and Finns. Only a few of them look Finnish. Finns are like a mixture of Balts, Scandinavians and something their own. These are predominantly Russian people.

I'm very well aware how recently Baltic tribes lived in Russia, and it was not in Northern Russia

    Historic maps aside:

At what point in history did the Balt tribes even live in Finland? You are talking some schizo shit

Who were those Finns on the Russian side? Only Vepsians and Karelians speak Baltic-Finmic language in Russia.

Estonians who were historically Orthodox (Setos) speak Baltic-Finnic language in Russia.

I thought we were talking about Balt tribes?

Estonians at the North Russian Plain. You are kidding. I try to evaluate your source data. If it is not reliable your views are unreliable too.

Why do you put words in my mouth? It should say "Finno-Permians" instead of Finns there.

I can tell you the exact tribe of Balts who lived in Central Russia until the Middle Ages.

Can you tell me which Balt tribes lived in Finland or you admit for once that you are wrong?

I'm not even sure about Baltic tribes ever living in Estonia at any point, it's the other way around - Finnic tribes used to live in Northern Latvia.

All right, they were not Finns. Linguistically and culturally Finno-Parmians are quite different people. If the bifurcation of Russians and Poles is 1600 years, the bifurcation of Finns and Permians is thousands years more. Historically even Mordvins are closer Finns.

I know the history of Baltic people in the pre-Russian time.

Not like that, but closest groups of ancient Finns lived in Estonia and Livonia. In Finland there was no Finns before 1600-1800 BP. The Finns came from Estonia and Livonia, mixed later in Finland.

I know very well than ethnogenesis of Finns is a migration of Estonians into Saami territory.
