No I dont live in Alaska haha. I dont know about assimilation but fitting in a different thing. I think I am already assimilated but dont fit in i.e. people dont view me as one of their own. That comes down to race but also behaviors(I am very awkward). Also those are not girls at the gym checking me out lol, it is just 40 year old women staring at me with curiosity as they have not seen anyone who looks like me in their vicinity.

The people who act condescending/hateful already seem to be aware of what I am when they see me. That includes hispanics, east asians, arabs.

Connect with your ancestors, learn your ancestral homeland'a culture and history and be proud of that. You can be Westernized and be American but love and be proud of your ancestral homeland and its history.
