Hitlers view on religion are cryptic and contradictory. In the 3rd Reich there was a protestant movement called Deutsche Christen that attempted to mix the racial views of the NSDAP with Christianity and eventually become the official church, but the NSDAP leading figures were pretty ignorant towards them. The Pope spoke out against Nazi Germany in his encyclical "Mit brennender Sorge" and figues like Stauffenberg were catholic nationalists. As a catholic myself I would also fight the 3rd Reich for its paganism promotion and generally anti humane ideology that comes with it.

We Germans as people wouldnt have any national identity without Charlemagne, latinzation, early catholicism.

Why would it happen to Nazi leaders like Himmler to resuscitate paganism after thousands of years, when people had forgotten about it? Also why did Christians support them?
