Default My opinion on genetic testing

I do it only for fun, because it has not much relevance in real life to what your identity is or how you are perceived, but its interesting and fun. Also doing so many tests I think they are not that precise often or most of the time the results vary and you can get a bit different results but they can broadly tell you your ethnicity. Like northern european, southern european, balkans, westasian, northafrican, jewish, southasian, admixed american etc. For example its clear from my genetic results that Im Roma and from Balkans. I knew this before anyways, but it is confirmed. Especially on gedmatch it literally spells out roma for me. 23andme highlights my countries of origin as in the balkan regions too so additionally to knowing im Roma I also confirmed that Im from Balkans. Thats my opinion.

It’s important to say, that on upcoming 8 April we will mark our national day. It’s disrespectful from Non Profit organisations to claim ,,international “ Roma day. We are one Nation, with one race for which we have paid huge price during WWII and with one language rooted to Hindi. We are the Romani nation. - Michael Daduc The Roma Nation Movement
Germany is showing us what could soon happen to us in Austria with a left-wing Austro traffic light. Do we want a situation where we can no longer choose the heating system, but we can choose the gender? Hardly likely! Only a strong FPÖ and a Freedom Party People's Chancellor will know how to prevent such nonsense. - Herbert Kickl FPÖ Bundesobmann

I'm not gonna do it cuz this forum confirmed for me you get what you are basically and it's sometimes a little off even. I'd prob get 50% Serbian/Croatian/Bosniak (whatever that is called...is it South Slavic), 20% Slovak and 20% German which is what I am basically.

But how reliable is Punt, as compared to the others like Eurogenes K13 as an example? And I would think Serbian would still be closer than Romani in some of the other Oracles.

Yes basically you get what you are and it is not neccessary if you know who you are. Only surprise could be if your father isnt your biological father but a jew is your biological father. I say jew because then you would have surprise of 50% ashkenazi jew which would be different from what you are.

Im more Romani then Serbian though. If you read my Profile, you will see that Im 56% Romani only 35% Serbian. So from knowing my ancestry it is reliable. Because I know my great great grandparents etc. And only 6 have been Serbs but 9 have been Romani. So why would Serbian be closer?

I already asked my mom about this and she said he was a 100% my father so I don't have any surprises waiting for me lol

I had forgotten that your Father had some minor Russian and Roma as well.

For me it was really interesting and I don’t regret it since I discovered many things about which ethnicity my ancestors could be. There was even a man who contacted me and told me that some of my ancestors are armenians and that part is still vague. Also the fact that I match with pontic greeks, azerbaijanis and a chechen dude suprised me but I feel like I still didn’t figure it out yet

I pretty much do them for fun too. My ancestry is very well documented so I pretty much knew what I was going to receive from the get-go. I just enjoy having the confirmation, I suppose.

I didn't know I had such high Native DNA; the tests helped me realize that.
