1) This year there are new guidelines, at least in the Orthodox Churches: the first three days you don't get to eat, and preferably drink, anything.

a) In practice this is very difficult so you can eat some bread and dried fruit after sunset.

2) After the first three days you need to abstain from animal products and oil.

3) Today is the first day, so no food today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow.

a) You should still drink. Because that's taking it a bit too far, IMO.

4) You should eat small meals, and no snacking in between. On Saturdays and Sundays you can have normal sized meals and you can snack as much as you like.
