Default Are Eastern European more inbred than Western Europeans?

    https://hbdchick.wordpress.com/2012/...astern-europe/

"whatever the pre-christian mating practices of all these slavs were — no doubt quite endogamous since we’re talking about slavic tribes here — they probably continued with those practices for several hundred years longer than western european populations did. the catholic church had put a ban on cousin marriage as early as the 400s; and the germanic franks and visigoths, for example, already had complimentary civic laws banning cousin marriages by the 500 and 600s."

"in russia specifically, the canon laws regarding marriage varied over time (they did so in western europe, too). between the 1100s and 1400s, there were no specific bans on cousin marriage, only a ban on marriage within the clan. levin claims that during this time period, the russians did not consider mating by cousins to be incestuous, so you would think there would’ve been a good deal of cousin marriage during these centuries amongst the russians. so that’s another four hundred years or so of close mating practices by the russians as compared to western europeans."

Before few generations, in few places, usally in little villages it wasn't considered weird to marry your cousin .. Sometimes I even heard nowadays someone has been married his second- third cousin.. Not in my family ofcourse.. But it's happened..

You talk about Hungary? Really strange. Was it Gipsy village?

I didn't read all text in OP but I have impression that it is pretty subjective view especially on South Slavs.

In Serbia moral norms among ordinary people about incest taboo are even more strict than what church officially allows, in terms how far two people should be unrelated to be allowed to marry, I think something like up to 9th degree of kinship is not allowed to marry according to traditional moral norms. There are even specific names for every of great grandparents up to 10th degree/generation.

These are extraordinary cases ofcourse more or less, and wieved as taboo, It was exaggeration to say it wasn't considered inappropriate

Not having laws ≠ practicing, even primitive tribes don't inbreed usually.

Here exists believing that Germans and especially British aristocracy often marry cousins for a reason of keeping wealth "in family". I don't know how much is that true.

I agree with this statement. Maybe in small, genetically homogenous tribes or villages it sometimes occurred as with all places, but nothing epidemic.
