Should the Vlachs have had a country?

Did Vlach/Aromanian people deserve to have a country of their own? They were so busy fighting for other nations, Like for an autonomous Macedonia, and earlier fighting for an autonomous Greece, and never really fought for a autonomous Vlachia. They were actually quite intelligent and wealthy people in the Balkans.

Did they deserve a nation state? If so, where should it have been? Possibly around Moscopole in present day Albania?

I think they created their own culture in the Balkans though. And their language is different to Romanian i believe. I don't think Romanians understand them.

Armanji are not the same with the Romanians...
Not all Vlachs are Romanians and we shouldn't lump them together.
They are quite heterogeneous and have very different origins.

The first recorded Vlachs south of Danube are recorded in the first half of 8th century in Macedonia, the Vlacho-Rynhini, who were dwelling around the river Rynhos and were making tasty cheeses and were selling to the monks of Athos monasteries. They were also involved in a conflict with the Byzantine empire, and their leader Perbundos was executed in Constantinople after he was captured in Thessalonika!

The first recorded Vlachs north of Danube river, are from 9th century in connection with the Gesta Hungarorum, in which Vlachs are recorded as inhabitants of Pannonia where they lived side by side with Slavs and Bulgarians!

According to Gesta Hungarorum blachs lived in Pannonia not vlachs. "blach" is a germanic word, it was the name of pannonian franks, bavarians who have settled in Carpathian Basin.



The blach and vlach name is very similar but not same.

The blachs and roman shepherds are not same.

Latin Vlachs had shepherd nomad culture, they originated from West Balkans, which was a part of Roman Empire:
