It is great to be a ruling family. You gather some warriors and forcefully take over some land and establish your rule, collect taxes like a mafia and make them fight on the fronts for your sake, and they will bring you good women for your sexual fantasies. And a century later your name will live on and people will proudly associate with you as if they are coming from your sperm.
Well, Genghis Khan spread more sperms impregnating many women during his expeditions and no one is sure about the extent of his biological descendants, but he never put his name and sperm before his nation.

It really is, our ancestors doing that for thousands of years.
Womens are great though, it's incredible how much variety you can get from various provinces

What do you have with Genghis Khan... he is not Anatolian.

The Ashina family founded the first state bearing the name Turk, which was the Gokturk, meaning Sky Turks. They did not gave their clan or family name to the state. They did not put their name before their nation.
On the other hand; so many people are proudly relating themselves to the sperm of Osman!

I am not a genetical nationalist. Love has no boundaries, my ancestors fell in love with people from other nations and made up with them, so what? I might as well marry an Irish, Japanese or such. It does not change that I am Turk.
Turks are originally from Siberia. And those Turks that migrated westwards were called Urals. My ancestors might be connected to them since my dad strongly looks like Finnish uralic. Either way, I am a proud Turk and in no way associate myself with the sperms of the Ottoman family that was ousted by revolutionary Turks coming from Thrace and Macedonia like me.
