Sleep deprivation could kill you in a few days. Roughly after 3 days without sleep you'll have hallucinations. Around 10-11 days is maximum you could stay awake voluntarily and it may lead to some damage to your brain. Staying awake for longer only possible with aid of external stimulus and will inevitably lead to your death. Japanese performed various experiments on POWs during WWII and figured no human could live over 15-20 days without sleep.

There is some medical condition when people don't have daily few hours sleep but have micro-sleeps of 10-30 seconds every few minutes instead. Such condition could last for years and require some adaptations. For example such people can't drive for obvious reasons.
