Why is Iran and Iranian culture so underrated?

I find Iran and Iranian culture is extremely underrated. Everyone always obsesses over Turkey, Lebanon, and Egypt, but nobody gives a look to Iran. Iran was extremely influential in history, the traditions are beautiful, the food is some of the best out there, and the people are actually pretty friendly and hospitable (contrary to popular belief). Why is it so underrated and untouched by foreigners?

I know that a lot of outsiders believe Iranians hate foreigners, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Before, Americans used to vacation in Iran a lot and it was very appreciated. It wasnt until the 70s that people stopped paying attention to it.

Maybe some..."bias" since those 3 countries you said are seen as touristic places, while Iran is not at many western countries. Therefone, the measure of information about those countries is more ample and people tend to talk more about them than Iran or Tajikistan for example. If I say Afghanistan...

The reason obviously is that it has become a global pariah by the actions of its government as well as American foreign policy towards it.

I think Iranian regime is great. One of the few forces fighting against Zionists in our world.

They have my respect. I used to see some talks on Iran and its culture by Ayatollah Khamenei, really good.

''Radical Islamist'' is basically a Western invention to justify imperial aggression. Most terrorist groups like ISIS and Al-Nusra are financed by Zionists or Westerners.

I know people who visited Iran and said it's a peaceful country.

Iran is in terrible shape right now.
