It's somewhat a pity because we would have far more insisghts if it would have been correct.

To formulate the two main wrongs of the imaginations of the racial science in the first half of the 20th century:

- The assumed subracial types are not the starting points of the formation of the real populations by mixture of those but - in contrast - themselves the current ending points of longer evolutionary selective processes.
Because of this the reality can not be modelled correctly as a mixture of these subraces. The imagined causalty is not applicable.

- Traits are inherited independently. In particular in European areas exibiting various subracial types for thousands of years there is no connection between athropolical metrical traits and mental traits on an individual level. You could maybe formulate statistical correlations. But the "beloved" application of racial science on an individual level then doesn't make sense.

In the future there is no need anymore to refer to such a small fragment of data like the visible to the eye conditions of the head of a human only. This is biologically pretty random. Now, when the DNA can be fully sequenced, components (functionally essentially equalling what was called subraces) can be genetically defined (and applied) as hard facts.

We stand in front of the task of meaningful grouping and we know that there is more than just one approach to that. But this seems reasonable and legit as the reality simply does have many aspects. A sattellite pic of New York will look different to a pic of a street or the interior of a pub in New York. And all three kind of pics are equally true.

There is a north-west to south/south-east cline in Europe with high levels of individualism in the north west moving to higher collectivism in the south/south east. This is due to hunter gatherers persisting for far longer in Scandinavia and farming in the south/south east. There have been psychological test conducted where "weird" countries are more likely to cooperate/trust but also punish members of there societies for breaking moral norms etc.

Anglos literally boot their children out of the house at 18 whereas italian', spanish, greek are far more family orientated and more inclined towards nepotism. Other traits such as arranged marriages are far more common in collectivist societies.

I am not sure if any standardised testing exists for individualism or collectivist mind-set but it would be interesting, further not sure if there is any research related to personality tests (big 5 or otherwise) which could be used to classify a persons personality.
