I recall a conversation with this English dude and his argument was that Americans in general are dumb and ignorant, when I told him not all Americans were dumb, his reply indicated he just couldnt believe Americans could be Smart.


I then pointed out to him plenty of English people are pretty ignorant and his reply was… yes England has dumb people, but not like Americans, perhaps in our council estates where all the trashy chain smoking alcoholics live you can find people as dumb as Americans, but that is it!

In my area, it isn't as common for people to be as proud of their ethnic heritage as it is their Southern heritage. The pride of being a Southerner. Any city South of Baltimore did not have large ethnic neighborhoods. In a Southern city, an Irishman would live next door to a Frenchman and a German and an Englishman and so on. If a Southerner took part in the Celtic games for example, that would only be one fraction of their heritage. In the Northern cities it is different. But most of the "ethnics" are considered to be that of the more working class or who never left a certain section of a city. In the South, people still appreciate being Irish, German, or French, but it's not a part of their identity as much.

It's one reason why a number of African-Americans in the States happen to have British surnames or where I lived, where there was a large Italian community, African-Americans had a lot of Italian surnames due to discrimination & intermarriage between the two.

One merely has to consider a welfare area in the Americas, for example, with plenty of loose/easy/sluttish 20+ partners white/european tramps and their non-white/european boyfriends/husbands. When you get right down to it no respectable white/european man would touch those women with a barge poll.
