Checking Hispanic on job applications has helped me get responses and jobs in the past compared to just selecting white. There's really no reason not to, it just helps get your application further along the automated process so someone will see it, and the person interviewing/hiring you can't legally ask about it.

There are all kinds of HR policies in private sector and public where "Hispanic" is some sort of minority, especially in fly over country where there are not many Hispanics. Like I said before it is more advantageous if your name is Martinez compared to Mueller. What you "look" like is secondary.

I think it's a great trend for this country. We need an end to identity politics.
