Writes Mike Holmes:

The welcome upheaval in Paris recently – oddly enough – has its organizational roots in French law which mandate all drivers must have those Yellow Vests in their vehicles in case of accidents. French society is highly bureaucratic and statist, with small elites selected from special government schools to run big businesses and government. Everyone else is told to “shut up and dance.”

However those Yellow Vests make ideal organizing tools and symbols for the outraged masses who weren’t buying President Macron’s green-commie argument that paying more gas taxes (already over half the cost) will somehow “save the planet.” Ordinary French citizens have little practical means of protest but huge Parisian street protests are an honored tradition there. Many governments (most famously de Gaulle’s in 1967) have been ousted by such events. Since every angry middle class driver must have a Yellow Vest, just put that on and head to Paris’s famed boulevards for the fun. Instant solidarity!

The fat and happy statist elites running France along Green-Globalist party lines are now flummoxed. They can’t understand how angry populist French middle classes have come to reject their carefully massaged propaganda. And taken to the streets against them! Pretty boy Macron may soon be out of his job. All thanks (in part) to those mandatory Yellow Vests now turned into practical anti state organizing tools . Viola! The law of unintended consequences in action.

UPDATE: The military led Egyptian government has now placed sales of Yellow Vests under strict controls. This move is intended to limit distribution of these vests and avoid the massive street protests/riots seen in Paris.
