They don't look Nordic. But they usually look Atlanto Med or Gracile Med.

Fact still is that the vast majority of Levantine groups were(still are) darker when compared to Europeans, Jesus was most definitely darker and prolly looked like the average Jew/Hebrew.

If Jesus looked substantially lighter skinned and fairer hair than the average person of his time and place, this difference would have been significantly noted in the writings about him..

The Bible describes Jesus as being simply unremarkable. That means, he probably just looked like the average Joe of the day. But it never describes him as being particularly dark or olive skinned. Or fair for that matter. So it's up for debate.

The way they portray the "real" Jesus as being a 5'5 Dark Olive skinned Neanderthal with a puzzled look on this face, is just as inaccurate as the blonde haired 6 ft blue eyed Jesus we see in most painting and movie adaptations.

Whenever a Christian Fundamentalist or Evangelical (I am not suggesting you are one, by the way) attempts to draw me into historo-theological discussion, I ask them a single question, so as to gauge whether or not I should like to have said discussion..:

"Do you think Jesus looked more like Saddam Hussein or Charlton Heston?"

If they go for the latter, I bounce..
