Nope ! Actual atheism is actually a minority thing. What is typical is non-adherence and that has been a regular feature since the 17th century.

PPK-Christenen. Pasen,Pinksteren en Kerst. * That's how my late mother used to call them.

(Easter, Pentecost and Christmas. As named after the only times in the year when they go to Church).

In Armenia the situation is kind of ambivalent and Armenian Apostolic Church (full official name is One Holy Universal Apostolic Orthodox Armenian Church) on one hand does not have status of state religion but on other hand Armenian Apostolic Church has special status of national church in Armenia.

So according to the Armenian Constitution, Armenia is a secular state, and there is a separation between the state and religious organizations.

Article 17. The State and Religious Organisations

    1. The freedom of activities of religious organisations shall be guaranteed in the Republic of Armenia.
    2. Religious organisations shall be separate from the State.

At the same time Constitution determines legally unique status of Armenian Apostolic Church

Article 18. The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church

    1. The Republic of Armenia shall recognise the exclusive mission of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, as a national church, in the spiritual life of the Armenian people, in the development of their national culture and preservation of their national identity.
