    Маруся

    Розпрягайте, хлопцi, коней
    Та й лягайте спочiвать,
    А я вийду в сад зелений,
    В сад криниченьку копать.

    Припев:
    Маруся: раз, два, три! Калина!
    Чорнявая дiвчина
    В саду ягоду рвала.
    Маруся: раз, два, три! Калина!
    Чорнявая дiвчина

    Чiм я тебе огорчив -
    Що я вчора iз вечора
    Краще тебе полюбив.

Actually, i learned some Russian, and it becomes easier perhaps to understand now, than before 2-3 years.

Also, it is very visible how influence of Old Church Slavonic unites South Slavic and East Slavic. Old Church Slavonic actually made Slavic languages closer to each other. If you take for example, Polabian Slav language, you will see how different can be one Slavic language.

Here is "Lord's prayer" in Polabian language (which is extinct):

    Aita Nos,
    tâ toi jis wâ nebesai,
    Sjętü wordoj tüji jaimą,
    tüji Rik komaj,
    tüja wüľa mo są ťüńot,
    kok wâ nebesai,
    tok no zemi,
nosę wisedanesnę sťaibę doj nam dâns,
    a wütâdoj nam nose greche,
    kok moi wütâdojeme nosim gresnarem,
    Ni bringoj nos wâ Warsükongę,
toi losoj nos wüt wisokag chaudag.
    Amen.

if you want resurrect Polabian, start with reading this: http://tyras.sweb.cz/polabane/

    dübrë vicer, Müzes wenskë goren?

and yes, originally Poles were more "Western" than nowadays, few waves of Ukrainian temporary workers during the centuries made Poles speaking and looking Eastern

Who would use Latin alphabet with those dots and superficial characters when they can use Cyrillic alphabet, nice and beautiful.

I hate things like č,ć, dž ... when you have Ћ, Ч, Џ clean and simple.

Of course, Cyril and Methodius adapted a letter to Slavic speech, so it seems more native "Ч" than "Č".

They gave us Glagolic not Cyrillic lol.

Strojimir whose ring was found and bought by Serbian government wrote in "Cyrillic" before Cyrill and Methodius existed in 8th century
