    Greeks lived in Anatolia from Alexander's era and even before, they also had colonies in Sicily. During Roman and Byzantine era the Greeks also were important element in this land. When Turks came, they weren't in enough large amount to dominate in the genetic field so western Turks dont look anything as much turanic as the ones east from the Caspian Sea. Besides, Ottomans captured many people from Balkans or southern Ukraine so another doze of different genes were brought to this region.

    True. There were also Greeks colonies in Cyprus and Syria too.
