Are Turks ashamed of their Islamic heritage?

When I see Turks on TA and everywhere else in General, they pose as Atheists... someone would say that Home of Atheism is in Turkey.

Where Christian states promote Christian Patriotism, Turks in General are Ashamed to admit they are muslims.

Is that the doing of Attaturk or General Pro-European Wannabe mentality that creates an effect of hiding Islamic past?

If Ataturk didn't ban real Islam from Turkey, Turkey would be today like Afghanistan. Because he did it, they're one of great powers in world.
